This essence has two uses. The first is in protection against persons who are particularly toxic emotionally. The type of aggressive, domineering person who projects hostility and can at times really ‘get under our skin’. The essence enables us to be relatively unaffected, to keep our cool, to be polite but firm, not to be trampled upon.

This essence is different from Bark Essence 18 in that African laburnum is used when that person is a generally angry and controlling person rather than a fairly normal person who is particularly angry and distressed.

The second use is in rediscovering ourselves. Sometimes, through the stresses of life, perhaps through excessive commitment to career, through a relationship that went wrong or through a combination of bad choices and outrageous misfortune, we find ourselves looking in the mirror and wondering who that person is.
